I'M AT THE ISH-INSTITUTE, WE ARE WORKING ON A NEW PROJECT. I'M TEACHING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR A FEW MONTHS.WE ARE CREATING NEW WORK FOR AN EXHIBITION...
ISH was founded in 1999 by Marco Gerris, then 23 years old and one of the youngest theatrical producers in the Netherlands. Initially, the idea was to create a show integrating disciplines from the street and club circuit including: acrobatic stunts and dance on in-line skates, break dance, video art, DJ performance, martial arts, acrobatics, rap, beatbox and even bungee jumping. These disciplines, combined with the elements of pop concerts, video clips, cartoons, video games and film, were the foundation of ISH and a new brand of entertainment. The company's unique name comes from the suffix "ish," which has no specific definition, but is often attached to adjectives (i.e. green-ish, sport-ish, warm-ish) to indicate variance. ISH represents the multidisciplinary and multicultural character of the company and its productions, as well as the performers.
